J. Brandon Bell II, CRPC, CEP, BPC, is the President and founding principal of Southwest Virginia Wealth Management and has offices in Roanoke and Blacksburg, Virginia.   Throughout his more than 30 years in the financial services industry, Brandon has made it his mission to work with clients on conservative financial strategies.  He is a highly regarded wealth advisor, dedicated to simplifying, yet strengthening his client's financial position through an integrated, holistic approach.  As a recognized community leader, public speaker, and workshop instructor, Brandon's expertise lies in comprehensive wealth management.  He has specialized and unique knowledge in coordinating tax reduction with wealth building, estate, and legacy development plans and income distribution planning.

Specializing in the field of wealth management, Brandon began his dedication to continuous growth by learning a Bachelor of Science from Mississippi State University.  Later, he acquired the official designations as a Certified Estate Planner, Chartered Retirement Planning Counselor, Bucket Plan Certification, Series 65 -- Uniform Investment Advisor Law Examination.  He is also the President of his own life and health insurance agency, Brandon Bell Financial Group.

By serving as President of the Roanoke Chapter of the American Financial Education Alliance (a non-profit organization who assists with ending financial illiteracy in America), Brandon brings his devotion to the educational arena by providing free financial seminars to residents of Southwest Virginia.  He is formerly a member of the Virginia Board of Education and the Board of Visitors at Radford University.

Serving others is an essential element of Brandon's personal as well as professional career.  He was elected and served two terms in the Virginia State Senate, where he served as the Chairman of the Virginia Small Business Commission during his first term.  He completed his service of ten years as Trustee on the Board of the Virginia Retirement System in January of 2026.  Brandon resides in Roanoke, Virginia with his wife and two children and is a committed dog dad.

 

As the son of two public school teachers, Brandon understands the value of education in being successful in meeting one’s financial goals.  He served four- and one-half years on the Virginia Board of Education having been appointed by former Governor George Allen.  He also served on the Radford University Board of Visitors and was appointed by former Governor Tim Kaine.  Brandon brings his devotion to education in his membership with the American Financial Education Alliance (AFEA) in providing educational seminars in Southwest Virginia.  AFEA is recognized as a 501C(3) non profit charitable organization whose goal is to help end financial illiteracy in America.

Brandon holds both the Chartered Retirement Planning Counselor and Certified Estate Planning designations.  His focus is to help develop and implement plans for his clients in retirement income planning and estate planning.  He also holds a Series 65 securities registration.

Community service has always been an essential part of Brandon’s personal and professional life.  In addition to having served on the Virginia Board of Education and Radford University Board of Visitors, he was elected to serve two terms in the Virginia Senate.  He currently serves as a Trustee on the Board of the Virginia Retirement System along with serving as Chairman of the Defined Contribution Plans Advisory Committee.  Brandon resides in Roanoke, Virginia with his wife and two children.
