Deric Ned

Chapter President

Deric Ned is a retirement income planning practitioner based in Pasadena, California, with more than 15 years of experience in financial services.

Deric's career path has been anything but conventional. He began in the film industry in Los Angeles, working as a camera operator on feature productions. After several years, he made the deliberate decision to transition into financial services, driven by a desire to build a career that could support the family life he wanted while making a meaningful difference for the people he worked with.

He gained early exposure to the financial world through internships at two Wall Street firms in New York City, then built his career in California over more than a decade, eventually reaching a senior leadership role. Today, his practice in Pasadena focuses exclusively on retirement income planning, working under a Best Interest obligation, which means every recommendation must be made in the client's favor, not the advisor's.

Having reviewed thousands of retirement portfolios throughout his career, Deric has developed a distinctive approach grounded in what actually works for real people approaching or living in retirement. He specializes in identifying gaps in existing plans, co-ordinating across multiple financial professionals (tax advisors, estate attorneys, insurance specialists), and building income strategies designed to be resilient through market volatility and life changes.

Deric believes that effective retirement planning requires precise coordination and timing, bringing together the right professionals at the right stage so that each element of a client's plan supports the others. He is committed to objective financial education through his work with AFEA and to helping Americans make informed, confident decisions about their financial futures.
