James Steele

Chapter President

Talk about eclectic, James has been having way too much fun in life.  First, with degrees in music, he came from Minnesota to Washington to play in The United States Army Band, MDW.  Then he built a distribution business.  After that, he joined the Washington Saxophone Quartet, now heard daily on NPR, All Things Considered.  He was a project accountant for a multifamily builder, learned spreadsheets, accounting software, and then entered the MBA program at Virginia Tech.

After that he served five years in a CPA firm, losing his fear of the IRS in fact.  Then he launched a remodeling design business, serving dozens and dozens of families in expanding their homes.  In search of a marketing system, he stumbled onto a program that protected his assets from tax and market risk.  This led to training to help others in planning their finances and retirement.  Nine years ago he sat for his Series 65 license so he could add a balanced approach to helping manage his clients’ funds.  He loves the planning function and the prospect of nailing down guaranteed income streams that last for as long as they live.

He and his wife live in Falls Church and they have seven grown children and eleven grandchildren.
